Referral Program Terms

Version 1.0-2026-10. Companion to the Contributor Terms.

These terms govern the Flevy Business Data Services ("Flevy BDS") contributor referral program.

1. Enrollment is automatic. Every active contributor account has a permanent referral code and link. There is no application and no opt-in; sharing your link is entirely optional.
2. What you earn. When a new contributor registers through your link, you earn a referral commission equal to 10% of every amount Flevy BDS pays that contributor, whether for data licensing or consulting placements. The commission is calculated on the gross amount paid to the referred contributor, before any taxes withheld from them, and accrues when Flevy BDS pays the referred contributor.
3. Paid by Flevy BDS. The commission is funded by Flevy BDS out of its own margin. The referred contributor's payout is never reduced by it.
4. No cap and no expiry. The commission continues for as long as the referred contributor keeps earning and both accounts remain active and in good standing, even if you stop contributing documents yourself.
5. One tier. Referrals made by a contributor you referred earn you nothing.
6. Attribution is first touch and final. A visitor who opens a referral link is attributed to that link for 90 days (a later, different link within that window does not replace it). Attribution is locked when the contributor registers and does not change afterwards, except by Flevy BDS to correct an error or abuse. Registrations that did not arrive through a referral link cannot be claimed retroactively; if a referral was missed, contact us and we will review it.
7. Self-referral and abuse. You may not refer yourself, create accounts to earn commission on your own documents, or misrepresent the program. Flevy BDS may review any attribution and void those it finds to be abusive.
8. Forfeiture. Commission is forfeited if your account is terminated for cause, including fraud, misrepresentation, or breach of the Contributor Terms.
9. Payment and tax forms. Commission is paid on the same schedule as other Flevy BDS payouts, under a separate written agreement where required. A completed W-9 (US persons) or W-8BEN (non-US persons) is required before any commission is paid. Flevy BDS may apply a minimum payout threshold.
10. What you can see. You can see the contributors you referred, when they joined, and your own commission. You are never shown what a referred contributor is paid.
11. Disputes. Flevy BDS resolves any dispute about attribution or commission in its reasonable discretion, and its decision is final.
12. Changes to the program. Flevy BDS may change or end the program at any time for future referrals. Attributions already in place are honored on the terms in effect when the referred contributor registered.
