Contributor Terms

These Contributor Terms govern your use of Flevy Business Data Services ("Flevy BDS") as a data contributor.

1. An inventory is an offer to discuss, not a sale. Submitting a document inventory catalogs documents you may be able to license. It transfers no documents and creates no obligation on either side.
2. What the scanner reads and sends. The document scanner runs in your browser on folders you choose. It reads only file details (names, folder paths, sizes, dates, page, sheet, or slide counts, document properties such as title, author, company, and created and modified dates, and a content fingerprint). It does not upload, copy, or change your files, and nothing is sent until you review the results and click Submit.
3. You must have the rights. You may only inventory documents and data that you own or control the rights to license. Recording an inventory is not itself a licence; when Flevy BDS later requests specific documents from you, you will be asked to confirm, for those documents, that you hold the rights needed to license them and that doing so violates no law, contract, or third-party right.
4. Accuracy and selection. You choose which documents to include before submitting. You agree to submit inventories in good faith and to exclude documents you are not entitled to license.
5. Document details may identify people. Document properties can contain names of authors, colleagues, or clients. By submitting, you confirm you are permitted to share those details with Flevy BDS for the purposes below.
6. Samples. Any sample files you provide are stored securely, used only to evaluate your documents for prospective transactions, and are not publicly accessible.
7. Non-exclusive. Submitting an inventory to Flevy BDS is non-exclusive. Any exclusivity would be agreed separately, per deal.
8. Transactions are separate. Any actual license, pricing, cleansing, and delivery of documents will be covered by a separate written agreement negotiated per deal.
9. Privacy. Your account and inventory information is used by Flevy BDS to operate the service, evaluate your documents, and market aggregated (non-identifying) inventory to AI labs. Individual file names, paths, and document properties are not shared with labs before a deal is agreed with you.
10. Termination. You may withdraw submissions or close your account at any time; recorded legal acceptances are retained as required.
11. Referral program. Every contributor account is enrolled in the Referral Program: you may earn a commission, paid by Flevy BDS, on amounts Flevy BDS pays contributors who register through your referral link. The program is governed by its own terms, which Flevy BDS may change or end for future referrals at any time.
